Best wishes & Happy New Year too.

It's been quite some time since I've been to temple, growing up I'd go with
friends and also with my Godfather. YES, my Godfather!   I was raised
Catholic, and yes, I really do have a Jewish Godfather (go figure...the church
didn't ask so my parents didn't tell).

LeAnne--you CRACK me up, that is hilarious!

Happy New Year.  So that is what Rosh Hashanah means.  I hope you all have a great year aheah.

LeAnne C or anyone who knows--- what is the significance of the apples and honey?

Yesterday, I made little fruit baskets for all my Jewish friends, but couldn't remember how to say "L'Shanah Tovah Tikatevuh".  So I dropped off the baskets with little notes that read Shaniah Twain!

I've been getting giggling voice mail messages since wishing ME a Shania Twain too!

We plan to attend service and eat with family for jewish holidays. I am hijacking this thread, as I can 't get past page 1 of your picture thread. I wanted to tell you I can now see them. He is adorable and has that twinkle in his eye. I love seeing pictures. I will see if the 12 yr old can put some new ones up for me. By the way, had to check my calender to see about the holiday. I am (organized) religiously challenged. In any case, Happy New year to you as well. Hey, today is a nice day to present your friends celebrating Rosh Hashanah with apples and honey.  And wish them well - this is their spiritual new year, full of hope and resolution to be better individuals.

Or as I usually say, "Happy Jew Near!"

Have a great new year board mates!

Sounds like a lot of fun!I had to google the whole holiday because I'm clueless about most everything...pagan Presbyterian girl that I am.  Something like sweetness in the year to come?  It's a nice holiday!L' Chiam, or something like that, A Peaceful and Happy New Year to all who celebrate at this time.
