She cried for her brother... | Autism PDD

I am so proud of my dd.  For the first time, she is 5yrs old, she cried for someone else...her baby brother.

He is almost two and he is getting tubes in his ears tomorrow.  She over heard me say he has "surgery" and she burst into tears saying she was afraid that he would be scared and that it would hurt him.  She was also asking me questions like...are they going to cut his tummy?  Too much bad TV?  I explained that it would not hurt and he would be sleeping and when he woke up he would feel much better.  She seemed ok but was still a little teary.  She is playing with him right now...wow.

Wow.  It broke my heart and I almost cried with her but at the same time I was so taken back and excited that she showed a real concern for him.

Wow...

These little surprises are the best...

I am sorry to hear that your son needs tubes and I hope that everything goes smoothly.  That is wonderful about your daughter.  Isn't it amazing the things we find joy in.  Keep up the good work,.

It is so great to see the special bond between siblings.  Good for you!

My 2 year old thinks our son is "Artistic".  Very,  cute.

That's funny.

That's great how she has shown concern for him!!  Adam for the first time a few months ago freaked out and started crying when he seen his brothers nose bleeding but I think it was due more to his fear of blood than concern for his baby brother.
