HEY DISNEY WORLD IS GREAT!!! | Autism PDD

Hey I JUST GOT BACK FROM DISNEY WORLD AND LET ME TELL YOU HOW
GREAT THEY ARE!!!!! First we went and got our special pass for my son who
has PDD-NOS and that allowed all seven of us wait in line 10 min or less,
which was so helpful with my son who has a hard time understanding
waiting and he doesn't do well in heat. Also my niece who has alot of food
allergies and every where we ate a chef would come out and tell us what she
could eat or they would bring out her own food. THEY EVEN HAD GLUTEN
FREE FOOD for her. I was so pleased I'm so glad you had a great time!!!! We live near Disneyland and go all the time. They have been wonderful the handful of times we needed something there. We don't use the pass since the boys do well waiting in lines but just knowing it's there if we did need it is a good thing!

We went to Disneyworld about 4 weeks ago and the chefs were AWESOME with our son's diet as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you had a great trip. We went in March, got the pass and had a wonderful experience as well.

Just a side note question (sorry to hijack the thread): Did you need to bring anything like a DX from a dr to get the pass? Just want to be prepared when we go next time.

Hi, just chirping in here. By law, you do not have to bring a letter, but it is a nice thing to do. Plus, walking up to a complete stranger at Guest Services going "hi, my child is autistic...what's up with the card we need to get?" Makes the whole thing less awkward feeling.

We've done this twice and are headed back again (3 times in 3 years!), and am still planning to bring a letter on the doc's letterhead.

The book The Unofficial Guide to Disney World has a nice sample letter in it that you can more or less steal, edit, and email to your pediatrician.
