Need link to sample IEP goals | Autism PDD

Share

The link that foxl gave is the one I usually post for sample IEP goals, because it's so comprehensive.  The link LeAnne is referring to might be the IEP Pop-ups written by hearing and vision organizations, but I don't recall that they had sample IEP goals.

Here's something I found today that looks very useful, a sample letter with three attachments.

Document 1   Behaviors that May be personal Challenges for a Student with an Autism Spectrum Disorder
Document 2   Specially Designed Instructions for Educators-IEP Modification/Adaptions/Support/ Checklist
Document 3   IEP Goals

Good luck with everything.

Hey, if you look for posts that came from Norway Mom, you'll see she put in a link to a Goal Bank.  Its actually two links, I think.  Anyway, read the page that comes up carefully.  One of the lists of goals is for kids with vision or hearing problems, but the third one has a myriad of stuff.  There are social goals, language goals, etc as I recall.  I even emailed them to my kid's special ed teacher and the IEP facilitator.  Told them these would be convenient for them to have.  They actually whipped out 7 of them for Cole's latest IEP!

Am in a flying rush, but will try to get back on later and paste in my links.  Check for Norway Mom's posts in the meantime.  She rocks with info!

Here you are!

That sucks as a goal BTW --  I agree!  And they do not need to put methodology in it -- just an end goal!  Ridiculous and sounds like THEY do not know what they are doing.

Here is a book that may help. It was posted the other day by someone here (sorry i forgot who) but I just got it yesterday and looks quite helpful.

IEP and Inclusion Tips for Parents and Teachers Handout Version (Paperback)

Okay - I have been having this polite yet heated exchange over my ds's
IEP. Most of his goals are functional and the school wrote them extremly
vague. They told me that everything they are required to put into the IEP
is in there and that they are vague on purpose so that they can try
different things. (For example: " M. will learn to control his feelings of
anxiety 80% of time by next year") I feel like I could right books about
why that is a badly written goal. Just makes me want to scream.
Anyway, unfortunatly I need to get back to them today - does anyone
know of any links where I could look at a smartly written functional goal.
Thanks
