son drinking pool water | Autism PDD

Hi, My 6 year old son went to the pool 2 days and drank alot of pool water.  Does anyone else's kid do that?  I'm so worried about him getting sick from that.Luke will drink his bath water if I'm not on top of him every minute.  Talk about gross! 

I would imagine that if your son were going to be sick from the pool water he would've shown signs of abdominal distress already.  Watch him for a week or so to see if he runs  a temperature, just in case.  You may want to make a pre-emptive call to his pediatrician, too, just to calm your worries.

My 5 year old son drinks it all the time! UGH!!! Funny that I read your post after we came back from the pool and there was Anthony jumping in the pool with his mouth wide open and I said to myself "how long until he gets sick" and I can tell him a million times not to do it, but he does not get it!!

Adam drinks his bath water.  I have to keep on him too every second. LOL LOL  So I'm sure that when  I get him in a pool it will be the same thing.

Thank you for your stories, i feel a little relieved knowing my son is not the only one drinking pool water.

He will drink soda, koolade, juice, and chocalate milk cold, but also prefers them at room tempature.

DWAYNE DRINKS HIS BATHWATER ALSO, I TELL HIM WHEN HE GOES TO DO IT "YUCKY, DONT DRINK THAT", YET HE CONTINUES TO DO IT, I DONT REALLY SEE WHERE IT HURTS.  HE ALSO WONT DRINK OUT OF A CUP IF ITS BEEN IN THE FRIDGE, HE DOESNT MIND IF THE ACTUAL DRINK IS COLD, BUT I DONT THINK HE LIKES THE COLD ON HIS HANDS.

Takoda went through that phrase with bathwater. I told him it was dirty water and had the germs that he had just washed off.

Now I have created a germaphob! He gets so upset when his 19mo old brother still drinks out of a soda bottle with his mouth over the whole opening. He has to wipe it off and if his shirt is dirty I have to use mine.

my son drinks an occasional drink from the pool and tub, more if I'd let him I'm sure LOL...I just keep telling him only from a cup not from the pool or not from the water and Yukky!  but so far no luck w/ it...

I noticed he likes his water not ice cold, but will drink milk nice and cold, honestly I can't drink ice cold water either...not warm but not freezing...so maybe he's like me LOL...

Jared drinks it all the time no matter what I say or have tried. It is gross but the most I have to deal with is him having to jump out of the pool every 10 min. it seems like. having to go to the bathroom. lol But never got him sick
