Christmas shopping | Autism PDD

I've bought two toys.  That is a *record* head start for me.  I usually start in early to mid-December, as I have no idea where to hide the stuff for over a month.

I have not done any yet.  gonna be late this year

I got my lilguy hot wheels cars and LOTS of Thomas the Tank Engine stuff! His favorite pasttime is playing with his trains.

I will be going out on Dec. 24 and begging DW to wrap everything that night, its almost become a ritual for us Time sure flysjust started....and I have a lot more to do... Haven't started yet I'm waiting for the credit card that I signed up for to come in as this is what we are going to be using for shopping this year(bad idea I know but I haven't had a credit card in 5 years) This will be the only card that I get and I'm designating it "the christmas card" so we can use if only for the holidays(and each person will have a set amount as to how much is spent)that way we can use our regular money for our bills. Not the smartest way to do it but it will keep us from using the mortgage money fro Christmas presents.
All done here. Most of the presents are wrapped too. Now i can just sit back and enjoy the holidays.
you're kidding? wow, santa come to my house if you get bored and I'll put you to work!I put Andrew's "Wish List" on Amazon.com for his relatives on my side...all in different states.  I got him a few things...We try to minimize what we buy as he gets showered with gifts from all of the aunts and cousins on my husband's side in addition to getting 3 or 4 things from the wish list...I got kaitlyn  a ltttle people farm house and a fisher price preschool set with art stuff, so when her older sister is playing with the fisher price art easel she has a srt to play with. My dad got her a smartville train set. Still waiting on the eeg results. Theres a nasty flu going around where we live it's bad.

I bought several things on eBay this year - so that helped. Tomorrow night, our mall has a night where they open from 7-10 only to people who have bought tickets - and all the tickets go to various charities. If you bought a ticket from a charity (it is ) then the money goes to the charity. ALL the stores have awesome sales - so I get most of my shopping done then, if possible. I will miss that when we move... We bought ours from the place where my son takes integrated tumbling classes since that program has helped my son tremendously. Just to give you an idea of the sales - if anyone every shops at Gymboree, they are currently having a sale where all their sale items are an extra 20% off - and tomorrow night, everything will be an additional 25% off your entire purchase (on top of the extra 20%)- and you earn Gymbucks too! I went in tonight and put stuff on hold!

Anyway, I also went to Toys 'R Us tonight as I have to shop for grandma and grandpa - they are pretty much house-bound. Got ds a grow-to-pro pogo stick that they can give him. I try to have the grandparents give the really "cool" gift, because we don't see them much and ds is not always appreciative of gifts. I think he will LOVE the pogo stick though - he loves the one at PT! I also got him moon shoes from Santa - they are for ages 7 and up, but the PT uses them with him. I just have to make sure he wears his bike helmet (also with the pogo stick) and elbow and knee pads as well - plus I need to pretty much hold his hands when he is wearing them. But, the PT recommended it for balance and coordination and strengthening muscles.

Hubby and I are going to get something together - not sure what. I get stocking stuffers for him and for the kids. Plus, we do St. Nicholas day (which is Dec. 6th) and leave shoes out. The kids get a new pair of pjs (Christmas-themed - and I've already bought those) and usually one piece of candy and one small toy in their shoes on that morning. I still have to get for my mom and dad and probably a few more gifts for the kids. Then there are all the teachers and professionals that help my son. Today, I bought some cute popcorn holders for .00 each in the dollar aisle at Target. I am going to put a microwave bag of popcorn, some homemade fudge and a gift card to Blockbuster Video and wrap it up for most of the people that work with my son. For a few, I will also enclose a letter written to their supervisor as a thank you for how wonderful they are with my son. Oh, I still need to get for dh's mom and her husband. I have no idea what to get them! Maybe hubby will help this year.

I haven't started my list of people to send cards to (and I usually send close to 100). One of these years, I will tone down what all I do so that I don't go so nuts during the holidays!

Oh, we don't use gift wrap for the gifts from Santa - we use Sunday comic papers. It was a tradition in my family growing up - and it's a good way to save a little money, the kids love it, and you recycle!

Yep I'm done now. I have the gifts for the kiddos and stocking stuffers done.  We have the decorations up including the Christmas Tree as well.

This is due to my father in law about to die and is in hospice now and probably won't last the week so we got it done because we will be gone for about a week agian when he does die. So that way it's done and we don't have to fool with it in the midsts of this sad time for our family.

about half way done....first timeWell I got a couple of things, but im tring to get decorated just because steven is 3 and half and I want to give him time to understand santa All done here. Most of the presents are wrapped too. Now i can just sit back and enjoy the holidays.

I have money that I've been saving since October, but as of yet I have not gone shopping. Now I am stressing!  I am going to try and get bob to hang out with the kids today so I can go for a few, before the mall becomes attrocious

Has anyone started shopping yet?Amazingly for the fist time ever I have half my Christmas shopping done.  Im one of those people who normally wait until two weeks before lol.  But Im really proud of myself this year for not procrastinating whoohoo me
