Rainman, Just wanted to say I'm a dog lover too. I have a sleepy old retriever
mix...okay, a mutt.....I have so many funny stories about her I don't know
where to start. One thing I discovered was when she's "talking"--making
that Noooo sound you mentioned---If I start singing really loud--she wil
sing along with me. AWooooo! aaaaaaarrrrrgh! Noooooooo!, While I'm
singing Old Mac Donald or something. It's hilarious.
Hi I just wanted to ask does anyone else here own or know people who also have a Basset hound? ( I find this an easy way to make conversation and often use this method in talking to people to help me come out of my shell so to speak) I have had 2 of them in my life my first one was named Callie and was my constant companion throughout childhood My family and I adopted her in the Fall of 1992 and she lived a happy healthy life with us Until she Passed away on December 13 2000 from cancer.
Callie was half Basset /half beagle mix breed and when i was young had a hard time making freinds she was always very gentle with me and my Brother and didnt bite or anything it was my good experience with her that led to a lifelong Fascination with this breed of dog (Of course I love all types of dogs not just Bassets LOL)
My Current dog is named Maggie an She is a pure Bred basset hound with reddish tan, Black and white fur, one of the things i love most in life is spending time with her Because of how cute she can be She makes this growl or howl or whatever you want to call it that sounds like shes saying the word NO (to what i have no clue ) she did this when i was feeding her a week ago.
Do any of you have any funny stories about your pets?
My aunt also has a Retriiver Puppy named lucy She fusses over her all the time the dogs pictures are often in some of the birthday and Christmas cards i get from her Its cute.
Chocolate sounds like a beautiful name for a dog We have a boxer. She loves Adam, and he is really good with her. He takes her for walks and that gets other kids to talk to him because they want to pet her. She will drool if someone is eating chips. She just loves those chips. She sits and shakes and drools for them. I had a big black Chow that looked like a black lion. He died from cancer before Jayden was born. It was a good thing in a way since Chow's are not the friendliest dogs and I have no clue how he would have been around Jay. Hi Rainman, we just got our son, who is 11 with Aspergers a Black Lab. My son loves his dog. His dogs name is Chocolate, because all of his stuffed animals names are Chocolate he decided to stick with this name for his real dog. Chocolate sounds like Scooby Doo, when we ask her if she wants to go out side.
