Has anyone tried these? Supposedly they eliminate the need for GF/CF diet because the ezymes help to break down the stuff that the body can't. They are also supposed to be "without side effects" and non-harmful. Anybody tried this? I would like to but I don't know what kind and if I should have a doctor okay it first.I don't know anything about these enzymes BUT I strongly suggest that you
have a doctor okay it.

they might know something about it that you are unaware of.

AI

we use them to help aid in digestion. I don't think they are powerful enough to eliminate the diet, though...

Kirkman's makes good enzymes

http://www.kirkmanlabs.com/

there is also a good book on enzymes and autism...let me see if I can find it...

http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/0972591877/171-9430162 -5457869

There is also DigestRight by Integrative Theraputics and Houston Nutraceuticals who developed AFP Peptyzide.

We are GFCFSF and use Kirkman's Enzyme Complete DPP-IV along with other supplements.  We found this enzyme to be touted in the notes we received from the DAN! Spring 05 conference.

I have noticed NO side effects.  The only thing I can say is that the enzymes will make the food that they are put into a bit watery so put in the last thing before eating.

Here's from their website:

EnZym-Complete/DPP-IV™ is Kirkman Laboratories highest strength multi-spectrum digestive enzyme formulation designed to provide maximal digestive activity for the fullest range of foods. This formulation is a unique blend of 19 pure plant based enzymes recognized as essential for the effective digestion of all food groups including proteins, carbohydrates, fats, sugars and fiber, under a wide range of pH conditions. The addition of the Dipeptidyl peptidase-IV (DPP-IV) enzyme analog supports the ability of the body to degrade peptides formed from exposure to casein and gluten. EnZym-Complete/DPP-IV™ provides a comprehensive "foundation" of supplemental enzymes to support optimal digestion.

Goodluck!

Enzymes can help if a gi problem is occuring. Daniel has no GI issues. We were told by a nutrition expert all need them after age 30 caause our bodies make less starting then. My hubs told me last night that if he has a belly ache, he takes just *one* enzyme and it goes away!
