Hi, my daughter is PDD-NOS high functioning but with extremely bad tantrums.  We saw a Doctor at the Optimal Wellness Center in Illinois it's on the web "Mercola.com" .

Her metabolic body type came back that she should eat high protein and she now eats high carbs.  The theory is that the bad behavior comes from her insulin levels being too high and also she is wheat intolerant.

I am working with  a nutritionist to modify her diet.  Wish us luck, anyone else done this type of thing with a doctor, supplements and radical nutrition plan please let me know how it's going.

For now were off to Whole Foods to purchase GF foods and low glycemic foods.  Let me know what you think.

I think ANYONE who can stick to that regimine is a saint ! I could never do it.That wouldn't work for us.  My son can not process proteins.  He has PKU .

We found out Colin was allergic to wheat and eggs.  Eggs are used in almost all GF foods.  So we are pretty much on the attkins diet.  It's not that bad once you get used to it.  And I lost 13 lbs since we started.

I through out everything  he was allergic to. I figured if he saw it, he'd want it.  Believe me, he was a total carb addict.  He still has a very limited diet that consists of steak, hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries, yougert, jello & fruit,   We can give him GF bread by Energy, so occasionally he can have a PB&J.  I still can't get him to eat chicken or pork.  Although you can make chicken fingers using GF cornflakes.

Are fruit considered carbs? Colin seems to like the fresh stuff the best.  No canned or fruit cups.

Good luck.
