| Towards the verbal path
Since 4 months after the DX, DS has started to say few words, he is using them in meaningful context, most of which are nouns and he has also started to repeat words which we are talking "echolalia" I believe, I am so excited about all this, he is 31 months now. I was so worried that he may never talk, but I find a lot of hope now, I wanted to share with this forum, where I am here often to find strength against the daily struggles and upsets. I have learnt a lot about autism here, still learning.
That sounds great! I hope he continues to improve. You must be so happy :) Frost40563.1776736111I have lot of positive vibe these days, just needed a little sign of improvement from my loving son, whenever I am down, he comes back and shows me hope, yesterday he himself got interested in doing puzzles, and naming pointing object in flash cards, rather than watching tv, I was like extra happy :) . "whenever I am down, he comes back and shows me hope"
My daughter seems to do the same thing..I tell her all the time how much I love her and that I am going to help her in anyway that I can..sometimes as I am talking she will look at me and other times she will look off but eitherway I say it to her because I want her to know how I am feeling then it seems like she is telling me mom I'm fighting too by going and doing something new.
All my children have their own nursery song that I would sing to them as a baby and her's is The Itsy Bitsy Spider and it fits her so well.
hugs,
