Schools for Autism in Northern Illinois     Hi there, I am new to this message board and really wish I had found this years ago. I am the mother of a 6 year old son diagnosed with PDD-NOS. He is in a program through SEDOL for children with autism located in the public elementary school. While he has made great progress, he has an issue with being aggressive. We are trying medication changes and behavioral therapy, but the school district has had enough. They are pushing to place him outside the classroom and while I feel he is for the appropriate for the class he is in, I believe they don't want him anymore and in the end won't be treated fairly. I would like to look at private schools that specifically focus on children with autism but I have no idea where to look. I am hoping someone out there can provide me with some guidance. My husband and I feel very alone but want desperately the best for our child. Thank you!
