You down load it onto your ipod. It is an augemtative communication aid and uses PECsI am looking to buy a handheld device for my son. I am looking for something that has a picture schedule, picture cues/instructions (quiet, wait, etc.) Also, I'd like it to have educational games and reminders about events. Anyone know of anything like this out there I can buy for my son?Hello, I have never found anything that does all these things. Does your son have a PECs book? http://www.pecs.org.uk/shop/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=7 You can put all of these symbols in the book. Are the reminders for events for future events. If this is the case a calendar can be effective. Put a related picture on the box of the calendar (eg a birthday cake) and then discuss the number of days until the event and at the end of each day put a cross in the box so your son can see the passing of time and that the event is getting closer. Educational games and reading activities that may help can be found at www.senassist.com Hope this helps, Best wishes, AdeleThe iTouch is great and there are great apps for children with autism. |
