Daughter #3 is....Having an NT child can be really beneficial for your PDD-NOS girls. Our NT son has been like having a built in social skills therapist for our older son. He really taught L how to interact with other kids in a (somewhat) appropriate manner. He is also his brother's champion. If anyone picks on L, C is all over it. He has also said that when he grows up, if L doesn't get married, he can live with C and his wife. Tiffany Yep, I have one ASD, one ADHD, and my youngest is completely NT and no apparent learning disorders yet.It can be hard, we have differing expectations for each child, of course. But, A injects a certain normalcy into dramatic play, and other play, and her interests influence the other two in really good ways! As sevenup says, best therapy, ever! Ditto.. our NT children are the best therapy our ASD children have had. I'm so glad your little one had a good report from the Dr. You'll wade the waters just fine! Emily Rose scores in the 75th percentile for cognitive and socio-emotional skills at 18 months. The good doctor said that there is no chance she's autistic. It will feel strange raising an NT child. I feel a certain sense of trepidation. What's she going to say about being the sister to two ASD siblings (albeit one is mildly affected). Hmmmm.... |
