Art showHarriet I just got a call from Michael's art teacher. She had submitted some of his art work to a state art contest for kids with disabilities. She called to tell me that his piece was one of two pieces selected from our state to go to Washington DC! It will be on display in Washington DC, and then as part of a traveling exhibit to promote art and disability awareness. I was so excited when she was telling me about it! I don't know if Michael will understand it, but I'm sure going to try and explain it to him! That is awesome! Hope the exhibit promotes the given purpose. Is there a way to see his art? Thanks. I don't know any specific details about the art show or where it's going to be after Washington DC. I did find out that there is only one piece of art picked from each state that is selected to be a part of the show. I suppose if Michael's painting wins, I'll learn more of the details.Wishing him best of luck! Please update when you find out more. I haven't heard yet if he won or not; I'll post either way when I do find out. I did find out that it's sponsored by an organization called VSA arts. Did his painting win? That's still really good though! Give him a big hug.HarrietWell, I said I would post when I found out if Michael's art project won or not. Unfortunately, Michael's art was not picked to represent our state at the national level. It was between his art and another student's art. Thanks for everyone's support and well wishes.Thats excellent to be runner up! Congrats Michael and keep painting! ![]() |
