Concrete Cures skate for autism

Hey guys,

Wanted to share some info on a new organization that I am a part of. Concrete Cures (cures part does not mean cure autism, name is related to the curing process when concrete is poured, we are working on building a designated area of a proposed Birmingham skatepark to be just for disabled children, of all disabilities).... is a non profit that gathers Autistic children of all ages and gives free group skate clinics to the kids as well as private lessons. We supply all the gear for the kids at our clinics and it's no cost to the families.  As of now the hands on is just in Birmingham, AL area however wanted to spread the word about our online offerings.  We are working on having our pro skateboarder contacts do some "how to" videos and different online things for the kids to follow, how to be safe, what not to do, why it is important to wear pads although some kids have sensory issues with it, and so on.  we are on www.twitter.com/concretecures  website is www.concretecures.org

Transworld Business did an interview with us at Surf Expo a couple of weeks ago, here is the link.  I have a 7 year old autistic son, Sasha, who has developed a love for skateboarding. It's good for him to have a sport that he can do without a coach telling him what he is doing wrong. There is no wrong way to skate and it's funa nd gets him active. Just wanted to share.   Cheers! -Crys
