Aldi is now selling Rice Milk!!Be careful with the Rice Dream if gluten is a major issue for you (the stuff contains Barley). There was another discussion on this board about that - http://www.autism-pdd.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=34637&am p;PN=1. We had switched from soy milk to rice milk a month or so ago (not because we have soy issues, but because we were having trouble getting the flavored milk -DD will only go for vanilla or chocolate - won't touch the plain - locally. We started Rice Dream. Then she started breaking out in a rash on her face (for us a sign she's eaten something with gluten). We switched brands (now using Pacific Naturals) and the rash is going away. I just had to share with those that have a local Aldi grocery store. DH just got back from the store and they are now carrying Rice Milk (not sure of brand name yet). But it does state on the label GFCF. Cost was $2.49. Also, in case some of you don't know as well, our local Super Walmart started carrying Rice Dreams about 6 months ago. Much cheaper than the health food stores I was buying it at before. One last note, since I'm on the subject. For those of you that spend an arm and a leg on certain GFCF items (milk, snacks, etc). I have several times asked the manager at our local grocery store to look into carrying the items we use most. They have picked up 2 new items because we asked, and they've even kept stock in the back for us. It never hurts asking, and it's ALWAYS way cheaper than the health food store. K. Had to share... Shanda Yes. I remember reading that as well. I'll be curious to see if we see even more improvement after switching to a new brand....oh I hope, I hope.. |
