Omega 6are really targeted to manage their mitochondrial issues and I'm leery of changing the mix without approval from the geneticist. I think I'll pass for now until I can run this by the geneticist. Our nutritionist suggested today that we consider adding Omega 6 to the kids' regimen. Her theory is that for the fatty acids to have a positive impact (noticeable, that is) on neuro issues, the Omega 3 has to be balance with the Omega 6 (trying to read about this to get a handle on it). Anyone doing Omega 6? We're currently doing 60 IU/kilo on the Omega 3 (roughly 3000 IU for Mikey and 2000 IU for Tori); and the nutritionist suggested 1/4 that dosage on Omega 6. Ideas? Thoughts? Experiences? Concerns? |
