Omega 6

We were doing Omega 6's, then our DAN said in kids with inflammation (which mine have got) the 6's can aggravate and it is so readily available in food anyway (the most common form) that there was no need for us to supplement it. My oldest son actually improved slightly after we quit giving it.  Google Omega 6 and inflammation and there is actually alot of info out there.Ugh. I had some concerns anyway as the supps/minerals they're on
are really targeted to manage their mitochondrial issues and I'm leery of
changing the mix without approval from the geneticist. I think I'll pass
for now until I can run this by the geneticist.

Our nutritionist suggested today that we consider adding Omega 6 to the kids' regimen.  Her theory is that for the fatty acids to have a positive impact (noticeable, that is) on neuro issues, the Omega 3 has to be balance with the Omega 6 (trying to read about this to get a handle on it).

Anyone doing Omega 6?  We're currently doing 60 IU/kilo on the Omega 3 (roughly 3000 IU for Mikey and 2000 IU for Tori); and the nutritionist suggested 1/4 that dosage on Omega 6.

Ideas?  Thoughts?  Experiences?  Concerns?
