Special sweetener reaction?I definitely am calling the company to see what exactly this sweetener is, and keep you posted on progress. Hopefully it is cleared out soon. Janie, I'll watch for yeast. I think I may be seeing some kind of "dieoff" now that we have gone gluten free. Thanks! My daughter has been sailing through her first week of a GF/CF diet. She is doing great. Then, I took her to Mr. Smoothie, an east coast U.S. chain, and ordered a strawberry freeze, which is strawberries, ice and, I found out later, a "special" sweetener. Their machinery appeared very clean, and I don't think they share dairy with non dairy mixers. Well. She could not put the thing down. It was like she was hooked. Then, today, her symptoms (loss of language, irritability) all flared up. Connection?Could be, find out what's in their special sweetener so you can figure it out so you can hopefully prevent it. I'd question very closely what was in that sweetener, and it's also possible that your DD has some yeast issues that the sweetener caused to flare up. I know that my kiddo had to be off of sugar altogether, even fruit, for several months in order to even start getting the yeast under control. So glad that she's doing well on the diet - congrats for getting it started! |
