| Non-autism benefits of GF diet?
My coworker was telling me that she and her grown daughter have started a glutean free diet for their own health benefits. She said that she feels less bloated, has more energy, and just overall feels better. I was wondering if any parents are also on a GF diet and have noticed similar results.I haven't yet. But we just started and aren't 100% doing it ourselves yet (the kids are, but not us yet). I do have friends that are on it and are loving it. They say the same thing of feeling better, more energy, less heartburn/bloating issues. AND I have a friend with PCOS that now has thicker hair, less feminine issues, is losing the weight that PCOS sufferers have such a hard time losing, and so on. I think there's something to this whole GF diet that helps many people.I'm going GF as soon as I get some allergy testing done (mid Jan). I have PCOS and fibromyalgia, among other things, and I've heard a lot about both conditions being helped by dropping gluten. It's bound to help with my weight loss efforts too - far less snacking! It makes sense. You are eliminating most processed foods and eating out since there are not many GFCF options in either of those. Most people I know that are GFCF eat many more veggies and fruits, too.
I did GF/CF for six weeks a while back, and felt much more clear-headed. It
really works. |
