The neighbor boy with only a autism DX gets it, however, SSI is about 7K behind in payments to them right now. The first time I applied I got denied immediately.  I was frustrated and didn't appeal.  My son's pediatrician urged me to try again.  Since it was over a year, I had to go through the whole process again.  My child was approved VERY quickly the 2nd time around.  So an DX of Autism qualifies? many ppl get denied the 1st time. [/QUOTE] many, if not ALL people get denied the first time and just give up...that's what they want you to do...appeal appeal appeal.    I should have followed my own advise back then, lol, Now I have to do it all over. My son has a diagnosis of Autism and global developmental delay.  He is almost 4.  He qualified for SSi with his diagnosis.  We live in Massachusetts (I dont know if that makes a difference).  The amount he receives is based on our income.  I know I worked some OT last month to make some more money for the holidays and it put us over the income limit and we did not receive our check. thanks jimmysmommy5, but wow they really r up on u huh? I will be applying and re-applying
