IEP Progress on goals

I have a meeting tomorrow to go over Iep progress on goals. Today I just received the progress report.

My question is... I noticed that on some of the goals, math in particular that he has master the annual goal and the are putting on his first short term objective that he has not mastered the goal. They put limited progress made. I am blown away because I know he can do this because I practice math with him ALL the time.

Why would they do this? What should I do? Should I show them worksheets of what he can do?

Is this their way of not having him mainstreamed? he is in a ASD class currently ALL day

It sounds like either they aren't working on it in class (so they don't know) or they aren't working on it ... in a way he'd be compliant (so he's not performing).  

You should consider an outside educational assessment.   The surest way to be ignored is to say it as a parent.   If you want anything credible said get a professional to say for it for you ... in writing.  

Math isn't a reason to not be mainstreamed BTW.  They have him in ASD class all day because it's easiest for them.  It's not really about what's best for your son and they'll use whatever excuse you'll buy into.

Thanks... I plan on bringing some work from home to show them (Bad/ good idea?). I would bet my life on it that they will just dismiss it. I have a feeling that  they don't work on it or because he has had behavioral "task avoidance" issues at school lately they will use that against us. Its funny that I have ABSOLUTELY no problems working with him at home.

This educational assessment..Is this something they would pay for? If so, how hard is it to get them to do it?

He has psychological reevals this month... don't have much faith in how the results will come back especially after this.

Let them hang themselves with their own rope. If they continue to argue he is not progressing in his current placement, listen until they have stacked up enough evidence, then say, 'well I guess that's as good as argument as any that we need to try something new', ie. a less restrictive environment.

From everything you've posted it seems like your ds is bright and being underserved. I don't recall if you have an advocate but it sounds like now would be a good time to get one.  This happened with my son.  His progress at home and his progress at school are two different things.  I made up my own data sheets and started taking data and I video taped my son doing those things.
