Made it through our 1st IEP Great news Shanda.  I'm glad everything went well. So he's going to go 1/2 day right? Miss talking to ya.  Gotta catch up one of these days LOL.  Heather mommy to Allison 4 NT, Louis 3 ASD I'm really pleased with how our IEP mtg went this morning.  It was a little touchy at first because the preschool admin didn't seem that she wanted to qualify him (both meetings were combined).  The only item that they wouldn't agree to is to create a BIP.  I will say they seemed to have good reasoning and genuinely concerned that a BIP would hinder Blake more than help him.  They emphasized a couple times that if we needed to add this we can. Question.  Is it inappropriate to send Thank you cards?  They revised all the goals and objectives to how I (and my team mates) wanted them to state with no problems.   They all openly felt that he is where he is today because of how hard we've fought for him in the past year.  They took everything from the past year into account, when they could've argued with me about whether or not he TRULY needs services.  I guess I just really want to tell them all thank you for caring so much about Blake.  Thats great it went so well! If you feel like you want to send thank you cards, there is nothing wrong with that. No rules on it, and everybody likes to feel appreciated sometimes, right? :)Nothing wrong with that at all.  If you are happy with the results, by all means send a card.Yes send a note ....I always loved and saved the special thankyou notes that I got when I was a teacher.That's great news.  Thank you notes are a really good idea.  I send one after every meeting.
