Been reading on here for awhile, finally brave enough to ask for some guidence. My Background: ds rx classic autism 2 days before this past X-mas @ 22 months. Biggest issues right now are non-verbal (babbles) and weak eye-contact. His current schedule includes OT, ST, and 15 hours of at home ABA (about to be increased). Went to DAN Dr in Janurary, had the usual test ran, and was put on B-12 shots. We returned this week for the results. The dr covered the results rather quickly and we were not totally prepared for all the terms and how one test related to another. Our head was spinning at the end of the appointment. Yeast seems fine (I think, since we were given a prescription for OSR) and food allergies returned low for casen\gluten. Basically Dr. wrote prescriptions for more B12, OSR, and supplements. Is there an 'expert' on the board who can give some advice to the results??? One thing about our Dr. I was dissapointed with: On one of the test (I can't remember which and don't have it in front of me at work), he marked 4 results where my ds was very high and said 'We see these levels alot with autisim', but after we got home and looked closer at it, they had ds birthdate not at 2007, but at 1907! They had the ranges set on the test for a 102 year old man. We called the office, but they were gone for the day. So we called the lab and they were able to give us the correct ranges for those 4 results for a 2 year old, and ds was normal for all 4. Obviously Dr. DAN didn't review the results until he got into the room with us and didn't catch the incorrect ranges. We talked to him the next day and he said it was no big deal because he doesn't go by the ranges anyway, and it wouldn't change anything.....should I be finding a new Dr.? Sorry for the length, thanks for reading\responding - Jason & nbsp; Wow, yeah, I'd be finding a new doctor. He should have spotted the date and also should have explained everything a lot more clearly. If you can actually post the results that you got, some of us may be able to help more. Which tests were given? That varies from one doc to another. Sorry you're getting off to a rocky start with your DAN. The regimen can be 100% worth the frustration though, so I hope you stick with it! OK, finally got the tests. If anyone could comment on some of these numbers I would really appreciate it. BUN/CREATININE Ratio was 44 (15/.34) - this is like twice as high as it needs right? Blood work for metals were pretty much all in range (zinc and calcium was slightly low), and blood for toxic elements (Arsenic, Cadmium, Lead, Mercury, thallium) were all in nomal range. They took hair samples to run for toxics we get back in a month or so. The only Moderate food sensitivity he had was for eggs, which he never eats anyway. Most were Not Significant, about 15 were in the Low range. IgG Casein and Gluten were both in the Low range. Can someone just tell me what this urine test was? I know all these values are high. Here are the results: I really appreciate anyone who can shed some light on this for me. Am not sure on most of it but was surprised and happy for you and your son that his food intolerances are next to none, and his calcium and zinc levels are only a little low. That is very uncommon in children with autism. Most struggle alot in these areas. A good place for zinc and calcium supplements (that work well! to get the levels up) is Brainchild Nutritionals. I hope someone else can help you with the other test results. We have not done them.
