Has anyone used Sensory Learning Method ( Mary Bolles) and if so what success or results were achieved

Hi stevenb, Welcome to the board!

What kind of things are involved in the Sensory Learning Method?  we do a lot of sensory integration therapy with my dd, but I'm not sure if I've heard of Mary Bolles.

Dilya,

My son craves vestibular stimulation so thanks for posting the book. I live in the NE and am dreading not having access to swings and mary-go-rounds that you find at parks during the winter. He is getting too heavy for swinging in the blanket and he is not a jumper per se. I will have to take a look at it..

Hi, also suggest you to buy monkeu gym on the site monkeygym.com. I bought it and installed at home. It's very good for vestibular stimulation. They also have swings. My son usually spends at least 45m - 1 hour on it daily.

Hi,

We used ensory Integration for my son. We used the Listening Therapy (Tomatis method). There are good centers in TX and CA. I used at home smelling, tasting, tactile sensor integration by myself. We are still doing the vestibular part intensivly. I didn't do a lot on visual part, except for Russian method on visual stimulation.

What can I say about results? They are good. Ben is verbal now, his receiptive language is excellent. He reads in English and Russian (we are originally from Russia - came 2 years ago from Russia), thanks to his Russian program. Benjamin is very strong physically. He can walk up to 10 km without break.

For Vestibular activities you can use the video-tape and book "How to make your child physically superb" by Glenn Doman. Excellent book!!!!!

But there are still a lot od things to do...

Hope this somehow helps, Dilya

Thank you for your response!

The Sensory Learning Method involves auditory, visual (colored lighting) and vestibular. It was founded in Colorado and is now franchised in various parts of the country. We have been looking into the local clinic and are in the process of investigation.

I would be interested in whatever sensory therapy you have undertaken, what it involves and what satisfaction, or lack of, you have gained.

Thank you!

Anyone done listening therapy and Ait with good results.Sensory help. I have a daughter with Sensory Integration Disorder. Here are some things I have learned. Trampolines, Weighted vests and/or blankets, or even just between pillows or couch cushions. Also playing with different textures such putting beads on a shoelace, shaving cream, dry beans, hand lotion etc...
