My little boy is on the GFCF diet and has been since summer '08. Today, I walked into his bedroom and caught him just as he was dumping his sister's cup of COW'S milk onto his head. Sooooo, my question is this: Is there such a thing as a contact infraction? Of course, he was bathed immediately, and I soaked up the carpet with a towel, but there will still be traces until I can get my hands on a steam cleaner, and even then, there could still be some left behind. The danger is that he would touch it and then touch his mouth, thereby ingesting it. How do I handle this kind of contamination? Any advice would be most helpful. I honestly wouldn't worry about it unless your son has an actual food allergy to milk/casein and has hives, trouble breathing, etc. Sounds like you did fine! I wouldn't worry much, either. Yes, skin can absorb some things but mostly (at least here at my house) it's other things besides food that affect her--like playdoh or sunblock, etc. Thanks. I did get a steam cleaner so I can get it out of the carpet. The funny thing is, he doesn't have any desire to drink the cows milk, like he knows its no good for him, but he just likes to pour things out. I think you'll just have to let it run it's course. It will be interesting to know if you see any changes. Let us know. Good luck. |
