early daylight savings-computer help

Ok, I am an idiot when it comes to computers. I have a dinosaur, so that's probably why the early starting of daylight savings time has screwed me up. I manually reset the time on my computer, but it keeps resetting itself to the old time. Also, even when it shows the proper time, web pages such as this forum still show the old time.  It's no big deal, really, except I have to watch the time when I'm on-line, and last night, I thought it was 11:45, but it was 12:45, and I only got about 4 hours of sleep!

Any suggestions about how to fix this so it will stay? Thanks.

Thanks, CAM! I almost put your name in the title, counting on you..LOL!

I have XP. I am still on dial-up, so I think the patch will have to wait until I'm snoozing (hopefully it will be finished by morning)

What OS (Operating System) are you using?

I had to patch active sync and my PDA to accomodate this change.

Microsoft has multiple articles and fixes:

http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cp_dst

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/tips/dst.mspx

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=66f 1420c-df2d-400b-a8a9-ef9061a9a3ca&displaylang=en

Some work...some dont'  I found my answers on some forums for my Dell Axim.

Good luck!

You are most welcome!I'm think that XP has a patch, since I am using XP right now and the clock works fine.

I have some orphan GPS units.  On them I disable auto daylight savings time and simply tell them I am one time zone to the east when DST is in effect.  Not as nice as auto DST but it does the job.
