Golfer Ernie Els raises money for autismThis is from www.autism.about.com. Unfortunately there's no direct link to this article (right now it's on the front page), therefore I'm pasting it in here:
Ernie Els, Dan Marino Team for Autism Tuesday March 3, 2009
Ernie Els and Dan Marino are both world-class athletes. And it turns out they have something else in common: they both have kids with autism. Now, they're working together to provide funds and support for autism-related research and programs. According to PGATour.com:
Because of his accomplishments in golf -- with three major championships, 16 PGA TOUR titles and more than 60 worldwide victories, Els is easily one of the most visible players in the game -- he knew he eventually was going to have to come public with his son's condition. There's no doubt that Dan Marino has already done a great deal for the cause of autism. Here's hoping that an Els/Marino partnership can do even more! Anyone have a link to Ernie Els' foundation? I tried to google it, but all I found was news stories. Thanks for posting it! Nicole The foundation is called "Els for Autism". I think it's so new it doesn't have its own website yet, but it might end up part of www.ernieels.com . He has another foundation to help disadvantaged young golfers in South Africa, and that foundation is on ernieels.com
