brahmiExcerts taken from http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/11-19-2004-61855.asp In all above cases, the plant Bacopa Monniera popularly known as Brahmi in India, comes to an aid for those who want help. Brahmi is used in India from ancient times from thousand of years back. The plant of Brahmi is found throughout India. Brahmi helps in improving memory, in improving learning capacity, Brahmi also helps in relieving stress, strain and anxiety helping your brain to calm down. Brahmi is elixir for those who really want to improve their memory. It is one of the most powerful natural brain tonic. Brahmi is used from ancient times in India in the form of Ayurvedic medicine herb. As Brahmi has quality to improve capacity of brain, removing stress etc. it is used in treatments related to brain problems such as mental decline problem which is related to old age, mental imbalance in children and many more.
Till the date, there is no record of any person who experienced side effects after using Brahmi. Person of any age, staying in any environment can benefit from Brahmi. The Brahmi is an incredible herb which can change your mental ability dramatically, it helps in improving grasping power in those who take it regularly (dosage are decided as per age group, so consult your physician for the same), it also helps in faster memorizing of the things that you learn and keep it in memory for longer period of time. Besides this, Brahmi is also helpful in fighting some mental conditions such as Attention Deficit Disorder, problem of deterioration of memory with age etc. I have to say that until very recently I was one for not trying anything that wasn't medically tested (as in been done and approved and ALL physician's used). But after learning about and even seeing with my own experiences all the wonderful uses of natural medicines and suppliments I am much more open minded. I think that if you have researched this (and it seems as though you have) and you believe whole heartedly that it is:... 1. not going to be harmful and 2. will be beneficial ....then I think you should give it a try. I hope that you will keep us updated on any results you get. well apparently its more communly used in australia than a lot of other countries so its been on the market here for quite a while, i have only ever heard good things, i talked with scott last night about ti and he said why not.. still i was hoping someone here had an experience with it..I hate to be a naggy pants, but please speak with your pediatrician before trying it. If you're giving your child any other supplement, Brahmi could interact with it and produce effects that you'd be unaware of. of course!! i was jsut saying to my friend that id have to consult Dr Hong before i jsut put jessi on anything willy nilly..but im excited about its possible effects on jessi.. take a minute to read about it.. i also have read great things about it for use with adhd try searching in google for brahmi use for adhd not much about autism but im going to ask my ped about it anyways. i dont want to use "conventional drugs" with jess, but i think herbal remedies are far far safer for a developing mind and bodyMost conventional drugs are made from herbs/plants/etc. (Sorry, but I felt compelled to say that! If we're lucky, dh will one day work for a pharmaceutical company.)
i was hoping for more dramatic results, but its well worth a try still.....my daughter is only 3yrs , since you DO use it, is it recommened for children that young? I try brhmi as an ayurvedic drug for last 3 years for my nine yers old son . But i have not seen any dramatical change in my sons beheavier . But it helps to improve his social skills . |
