Stuff like this gives ASD a real bad name. So my opinion is that his lack of remorse in this case should NOT be included as part of the decision to sentance. Most cases remorse can play a part in a harsher or less harsh sentance, so if hes ASD that that shouldnt have any barring, but he should receive no special treatment or sentance. Obviously he knew what he was doing, and regardless of ASD or not in my eyes is no less of a murderer and should receive a murderers sentance.Their is another issue I just realized when reading about stuff like this. I know past articles have had defence lawyers argue that because of ASD this person did ... or whatever. Absolutly a terrible bull$hit defence. ANYONE can commit crimes, ANYONE can have 0 remorse. Just because some idiot commits crimes and appears lacking all human emotion doesnt mean they have ASD. Look at Dennis Raider, otherwise known as BTK. Is he ASD because in court he had 0 emotion and was matter of fact? HELLLLL NO. Its not ASD, its Psycopathic! Psycopaths commit crimes and have no emotional connection to these crimes, so in court they look like thay give a rats @ss. The ASD defence is a total cop out. Reading stuff like that gives parents of ASD kids a very false picture of what their kids may be capible of doing as adults. And beleive me I am no saint, I have a history of fighting, but so doesnt alot of other people. ASD has nothing to do with it, or is indirectly responsible for it. Their are MANY MANY cases of people who commit crimes and show no emotion and are matter of fact, absolutly these people are not ASD! Parents of ASD kids have enough to deal with, and sometimes difficulties with society accepting their kids as adults. If stuff like this is being told to people about ASD and possible criminal connection its just another obsticle towards a sucessful life for these kids.
