60 days to complete evaluations

60 CALENDAR DAYS (including all weekends and holidays) to evaluate and hold the ELigibility Determination IEP Meeting.  Anything that they (or you ) need in the interim does not effect the 60-day deadline. This is PLENTY of time to evaluate, assimilate the results and report them at the meeting. Ask, in writing, for a meeting ahead of time to review the results.  If YOU have any private reports you'd like to present, have them ready by the 60-day deadline, too.  And ask what the preschool will be recommending. PLUS, ask to visit any placements that might be proposed at the transition to K meeting, including a general ed K, if you think that might be appropriate.

OK, this is a small detail question, but I want to make sure that I am informed in case it comes up.

We signed forms giving permission for our son to be evaluated prior to his transition to kindergarten.  They asked us to fill out a form about his strengths and weaknesses and for the physical therapy evaluation they needed a prescription from our son's doctor (a script is needed for PT in our state). It took us a few days to get these documents to the school district.

Here's my question. Does the school district have 60 days from when we signed the forms giving permission to evaluate to complete the evaluations? Or, for the physical therapy evaluation, do they have 60 days from when we provided the prescription? For the physochologist's evaluation, do they have 60 days from when we submitted the form with his strengths and weaknesses?

I'm wondering because his ST eval is done, his OT eval is scheduled, but we have not heard anything about scheduling from either the PT or psychologist and I want to make sure everything happens in a timely manner.

Thanks!
