Depression resources

Back to Autism Information >> Next Topic

I only have one resource as of now.  The website Catch-It is designed to teach teens about depression.  It includes:

Behavioral Activation (“BA”):   Behaviors like sleeping or eating too much or too little and spending less time on fun activities contributes to depression.  This section helps teens spot and fix these habits.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (“CBT”):  CBT will teach your child how to spot and fix negative thoughts (like "Nobody likes me")  so they can feel better and live more positively; they will also learn valuable problem-solving skills to get through difficult situations.

Interpersonal Therapy (“IPT”): This section will teach your child what their “talking style” is, and what are the benefits of talking to others calmly, coolly, and directly; how to solve relationship problems; and how to deal with difficult life changes.
