High school programs-- anywhere?

Back to Autism Information >> Next Topic

Hi, I am new to this forum.

We currently live in Southern California. Our son is 14 and was only
diagnosed within the last two years. However, he has been in a public
school autism program that has been excellent for him.

We are considering moving and could go anywhere in the country.

Anybody have a great school district for high functioning kids? His
primary diagnosis has been bipolar until the regional centers in CA
qualified him for services under an autism diagnosis. The autism seems
much more fitting as he gets older. He's pretty social with his classroom
peers in a special day class, and loves being in the public high school
with all the privileges that go with that setting. His program is great and I
hate to leave it, but there has to be another one out there.

Sorry I missed your post until now. I want to welcome you, and suggest you see Norwaymom's posts. She has links to everything imaginable under the sun, including one on services offered by state. I believe there is one here under a different post, but you may be able to find it more quickly by searching her username.

I hope you will find the info. you are looking for.
