Personal Note: If you are going to see a pediatric Neurologist for Autism, I don't recommend CHOP(Philly). I felt as though they dont deal with "official diagnosis" of autism, they push you off onto a developmental ped. I
felt like an autistic child myself because every doctor and nurse that
came in the room I had to keep repeating myself and then going over the
medical history I'm being told "Well, let's hear about the seizures".
EXCUSE ME! I was getting frustrated! The neurologist was a real winner.
When I was discussing her other symptoms I felt as though I was totally
being blown off(when I was even told down in the Neurology Clinic by
her CRNP to bring our list of concerns to the 24 hr) yeah what a help
that was. The neurologist told me, that it could be because of Autism
and her Noonan Syndrome. When I tried producing her with materials on
Noonan Syndrome she was like that's ok, I'll look it up on my time. She
also went on to say that alot of kids with Autism have abnormalities on
their brains and it could just be just that, she wasnt even going to do
the full brain MRI if I didnt push! She didnt sleep at all which isnt
surprising and when she would take a cat nap here and there you could
see some spikes. Let us know how the MRI goes! |
