First off, I have missed you guys!!!!! Our 24-hour VEEG ended up being a 4-day stay, and we all ended up sick at the end. I am still not feeling that great, but I wanted to share our experience with you all before I head off to bed. I posted about it on my blog: http://giraffessong.blogspot.com/ I can't wait to feel better so I can check up on all of the posts! I hope you all are well! (((HUGS))) Welcome back! praying you are all well soon! Hi,I wondered where you went! I am sorry things did not go exactly as planned. Hope you are feeling better soon! Harriet So good to see you back! I've been thinking about you and your dd, and I'm so sorry you ended up sick Take care Betty What a little trooper Katelyn is!!! She is adorable, what a great smile!Hey there, welcome back, you and your family were in our thoughts and prayers. Hope you all get well soon.Hope you all feel better -- we had the fever but no "urkas," here. I hope that EEG was indeed an accurate representation of what is going with her, too! welcome back!! so sorry ya'll sick ur family n my toughts and prayers!!!I have been thinking about you guys all week. I was searching for your posts and even checked your blog for news about the VEEG. I'm sorry it wasn't what you planned but optimistic at the same time. I'm also sorry you got that bug. My son was also suffering with a terrible stomach virus over the weekend. Luckily he did not share it with the rest of us. ***knocking on wood*** Hang in there and glad to see your back! I am sorry it lasted so long. We had the same issue... no episodes while admited. Our nuerologist gave us the option to re-admit for a 5 day stay but we declined... NO THANK YOU!!! Glad she didn't have any siezure activity though... in 72 hours thats an AWESOME sign! That is horribly frustrating.Could this mean that the Keppra is working for her? Have you had the meeting with the neuro yet? Glad to hear that you are home and finally on the mend. Wow what an experience! 4 days IS a long time so either its good and she really isnt having seizures (at least for that long a period) or its possible the keppra is just working (that IS what its supposed to do!) But id imagine they had her stop taking it at least after the 1st or 2nd day of no seizures?? Ive heard of children completely going off the medication so they can get accurate readouts of thier seizures but not sure if thats a widespread thing. Makes sense to me tho if u really need to knw esp to rule out landau kleffener synd. I know my sons first and only seizure med stopped all seizure activity really fast. Weve only had auras (which are mini seizures) here and there but nothing a small dosage up didnt stop but nothing big. Hopefully you can definately rule this out or in tho, Im sorry everyone got so sick! MY son had a temperature of 106 last week and currently has mild bronchitus. Def. keep us updated as to what her nuero says! ((hugs))) Thanks everyone!!! She actually isn't on the Keppra anymore...they stopped it the morning of her VEEG. Still no seizure-like episodes, so that is a good thing |
