A former student of mine wants to become an ABA aide. She lives in Delaware, OH. Does anyone know where she can go to become certified? Also, which colleges in that area offer a special education major? Thanks. Small world...I lived in Delaware most of my life, but am down the road in Columbus now. To answer your question, she should be able to get ABA aide certification through either the Delaware and/or Franklin County boards of MRDD. There are other places she could check too, such as the Children's Hospital Autism Clinic on Schrock Rd. in Westerville, OH (aprox. 20 min away) or The Nisonger Center @ OSU (aprox. 25-30 min). The closest college in the area offering a Special Education Major is The Ohio State University, but if you follow this link http://www.a2zcolleges.com/advanced_results.asp you will see that there are several schools that are within a reasonable driving distance from Delaware.
