Anne of Green GablesI love the series also and have all of the videos. and books..let me know when the new video comes out. Will it be the same actors? I am the only one in my house that likes this....hopefully my little girl will like these when she gets a bit older I bought the collector's edition, 4 DVD set, for T for Christmas! Isn't it beautifully filmed??? I too am obsessed, but she is not ready to watch it yet. :-( LOL.We also love the books and movies. My daughter, 10 is a huge fan. Im obsessed! I just finished watching the sequel last night and I had forgotten how beautiful those films were! Part 1 is my favorite. I also forgotten how old they are too! I googled Jonathan Crombie (cuz hes a major hottie!) and hes in his 40s, i almost choked. Thats how i realized how old the movie was lol I still love him. Gilbert Blythe <faints> As i said im OBSESSED! I think ill even move to prince edwards island even tho i found out it was also fillmed in Ontario and other various places (how dare they!). I think i could watch part 1 again if i didnt ship it off to netflix already :( I swear ive been on ALL day researching it and prince edward island. My mom told me long time ago that prince edward island was still old fashioned like that, anyone else hear this? Its not at all when i searched. Im going to watch the series anne of avonlea next and they also have a animated series which i had no clue about AND they are making another Anne of Green Gables this year! I am also a huge Anne of Green Gables fan. It is just a beautifully done series of films.I also have done research on Prince Edward Island and hope to visit there in the future. Another film you might enjoy, if you like Anne of Green Gables ,is an independent film that was done here in Georgia called "The Adventures of Ociee Nash". I am a huge fan of the McGary sisters who both produced and dirrected this film. They really fought, scratched, begged and pleaded and borrowed everything they could to get this film done. They believed so strongly in the storyand made it thier entire mission for at least 2 years or more to get it done. They ended up casting Keith Carradine, Mare Winningham and Ty Pennington and the end result is a sweet beautifully shot film about a girl preteen girl in the victorian era . It is available for rental from Netflex and for sale on Walmart .com I read the entire series SO many times all the way through when I was growing up. I absolutely LOVED the books but have never watched the movies. I am going to wait until DH is out of town again (travels a lot for work) then settle down with my daughters. Thanks for the great idea! Yay im so glad to see others love it too Heres part four of the Anne of Green Gables series: http://www.anneofgreengables.com/anneClassicmovies/anne4/ind ex.php It actually premiered on tv Dec 14 a few weeks ago! Its looks really good and I cant wait to watch it! I dont understand why they didnt use Megan Follows in it tho? I cant stand when they change actors/actresses as if we wont notice it bugs me but I know Barbara Hersheys a good actress so im excited all the same. And Jonathan Crombie wont be in it because hes died in the war (in the movie) :( That sucks! It is actually a prequel and the plot is Annes life before being adopted by the Marilla and Matthew and living at green gables and her reminissching. Theres a preview on the website. Foxl, Do you already have A new beginning? I saw u said u bought the 4 pack? I totally want to buy it too and already told hubby next time he has to buy me a gift (valentines day? And I hanvt even read ANY of the books! That is definately what im going to do and as a kid when i watched these mopvies i dont think i was even aware they were novels first but i cant wait, there are so many! I heard the most true to the novel movie was part one which was my favorite movie so im excited. Go Falcons, Ive already put Ociee Nash on my netflix list, thanks i cant wait to watch it Watching the films when hubby goes out of town is a good idea seeing that each is around 3 hours long! It was the perfect time for me to watch them since my son started school but ive been an insomniac and watching them late at night too. I tried to get hubby to watch them but he took one look at the main menu on tv and bolted lol He loves these kinds of movies and i WILL talk him into it oneday lol Your girls will love it tho!
