Hi,

I am asking ths question whose son has this stim of wiggling/moving his fingers in front of his eyes (visual stim). I am wondring how and what can she do to reduce the stim or to help her son with therapy(and waht kind of therapy is available for this).

Thank you for your help

I can't suggest a therapy to help with this, however I can suggest cod liver oil, or regular Omega 3 plus vitamin A- add in about the amount you'd get in the cod liver oil.

My son has been on CLO since he was about 18 months old and we never really had any visual stimming problems like this.  About six months ago I think I didn't increase his dosage when he needed it and all of a sudden we had what you are describing.

I recently started giving him Barleans Omega Swirl (Omega 3's) 5 teaspoons a day which his DAN recommended (he actually recommended 1000 EPA and 1000 DHA daily- Adam is 4.5 years old and 40 lbs) and then supplementing that with 10,000 IU's a day of Vitamin A, which interestingly I was already giving him even with the CLO.  Within two weeks of upping his dosage his visual stims and hand stims are gone.  The only thing I can contribute it to is the very high dosages of Essential Fatty Acids.  His Vitamin A levels stayed the same.

Thank You so much Julie!

I will tell her that. She lives in North Africa so I don't know which brand is available over there.

I will let you know the results.

I find that my son does these types of stims when he is stressed or bored- I try to redirect him and give him something more constructive to do. I twist my hair when I am bored or stressed- I think it is just how he copes with things, so i do let him do it sometimes.Thank you babyboy.
