A "switch" has gone off...

Brag away! My 6 year old does not point yet, but that is one of his targets in ABA.  How exciting for you, and for him!  Congrats!

wow that's great! my son who is 3 started this at about the same time, and he is semi-declared NT by the school district, although i doubt that.... EXCELLENT news!  I love how when they pick something up, they must practice it overandoverandOVER ... very exciting!  So brag away, and congrats!

Lol, thanks.

It's kind of funny..you are so right when you say "over and over" because since he realized he is communicating something cool to us, he does it all day now...anything of interest he does this swift exaggerated point and will hold his finger to it until i say "yes johnny, an airplane, i see!".

It's just a happy time for me, these little things are so cool to see. He has also started counting to ten and doing abc's. Not always the right letter, but most of the time. I love it!!

It is a very exciting time -- but each step of our kids' development is exciting in its own way ... just wait!  My "big trip" in life is reading, and watching my daughter just beginning to get pleasure from it, after all of her practice, is such a KICK!

His pointing may seems trivial now, but you will cherish that memory, too!  Enjoy.

At 27 months he is now pointing to everything. He started pointing out stuff of interest when he was about 23 months, but nothing in the distance, it was more to books and cereal etc...

Now...a full year after MOST babies do it, he has started. I'll take it!! Better late than never, right?? He will point to dogs, airplanes, anything really and look at me as he says what it is...I am loving it and just proud of this small yet meaningful action.

Hope its ok to brag a little here!!
