MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

May God bless and keep you and yours, in the coming New Year.

Linda

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all.

We had a wonderful day! Without pressies, I thought it wouldnt be as nice as with, for the kids but, they were wonderful about it! I cooked a big turkey dinner, with desserts (choc. cream pie and pumpkin/cheesecake). One of the guys at the group home had no family here, since his father went away for Christmas so, I took him over here for the day--he loves our stereo system and he ate the meal with us as well.

However, I am glad it is over! lol...Now, to avoid the return-monsters on boxing day! ugh!

Thanks all.

Last candle tonight!

BB has been cleaning up as we celebrate both in our home.

Hey Boobear...can you understand this? Selamat malaam!  Apa kabar, hara ini? Mau makan nasi goreng and caju caju!

Don't know if you speak Bahasa Indonesia, but my vocabulary is pretty limited as you can probably tell!  I spent a month in central Sumatra (a little spot called Minas, north of Pekanbaru).  The padang food was excellent, but I especially loved the local cashews (caju...or am I saying "cheese" instead of cashew?).  The guys would fresh roast them and bring us a hot, steaming plate every afternoon for a snack.  HEAVENLY!!!!

Wish I were back over in your neck of the woods for a visit...beautiful part of the world and the kindest people I've ever met.

Hi LeAnne,

I sure can... Good night! How are you, today? Want to eat fried rice... then ??
Ahh!! Caju caju is new to me !!!
Now I know caju means cashew nuts, it's in Bahasa Indonesia. I speak Bahasa Malaysia which is very similar to it.. but yet with some differences !!!

Hmm... Well, we all have our little niches that we reside in...

I hope Cole is doing ok... My Daniel is going 10 and has 3 more years of his primary education. But my wife and I are prepared to pull him out of primary school and enrol him in a home schooling situation when he enters secondary school (13 years to 18 years of age)

Daniel still has issues copying the work from the blackboard. [ YES!!! We still use the terrible dusty old chalk which the kids end up handprinting each others pants!!  ]

So a new year with new challenges and new issues to overcome...
May we as parents have wisdom to deal with them as they come.
