Hello. I am desperate to find a doctor that knows ANYTHING about Autism. My son is 4.5 and he has a ton of GI issues. I also want to get started on some supplements and alternative therapies. Frankly I'm sick of knowing more than our current pediatrician about Autism! Help please!Wow...Ma has the best docs and hospitals in the country. Have you tried Boston Children's hospital? At least they should be able to give you a referral. Best of luck...
Hello. I am desperate to find a doctor that knows ANYTHING about Autism. i live in mas i go to ladders it in lextion Are you looking for as DAN doc or a doc that is knowledgeable aout biomedical treatments?
Frankly I'm sick of knowing more than our current pediatrician about Autism!
I hear that!!! Our current pedi is very nice, but she is not very proactive, or so it seems. I have had to bring everything to HER attention. I would like to find a developmental pedi in MA (or RI since I'm close to the border) who knows a lot about autism. If I hear anything, I'll be sure to let you know! type in ladders, org they have dev dr .my neroliugst is there my dr for my stoumach .an i had spl /social Children's in Boston has an autism clinic, dedicated to everything from tradition to DAN. I so miss our hospitals back there. I went to Children's with all of my kids. I don't know exactly where you are in Mass. but, it was worth the travel for us (we were north, about an hour from Boston). Also, they have satellites in between the big appts. Ours wasn't far from Lexington/Concord. Here is a link: Here are some possiblities I agree with everyone about LADDERS- it is in Lexington and is a part of Mass General. Our develolpmental ped was at LADDERS and she recently moved to Tufts New England Medical Ctr/Floating Hospital for Children- her name is Roula Chouri. There is a good psychologist at Baystate Medical Ctr in Springfield- Susan McQuistion. Karen Levine is now in Lexington- I dont think she take insurance anymore, but I am not sure. Umass worcester is a recent extension of the autism consortuim into central mass- Dr Jean Frazier is a part of that program. As for GI- Dr Buie is the best- he works out of LADDERS, Mass General and Newton Wellesly Hospital- not sure if he is taking new patients. For DAN dr- I recommend Dr Lynch- he is in Northampton MA part of Northampton Wellness- Dr Buie recommended him to us. Lynch does take some insurance too. He is cotreating my son's gi issues along with dr buie.
Hope that helps! good luck
Here are some possiblities I agree with everyone about LADDERS- it is in Lexington and is a part of Mass General. We are moving there soon and want to make sure we are not going to have to fight for services. Our son is 3 years old and highly functional with mainly behavioral issues at this point, and some social issues. I know it's off topic thanks for taking to time to respond. I cant tell you anything about the northampton school system, I dont know anyome in that district. There are some great private services in that area- for OT there is Hampshire Educational Colloborative OT center- I think its actually called OTC at HEC- they are very sensory focused. The outpatient clinic at Cooley Dickinson hospital is supposed to be great for OT and PT. Skinner Clinic at Holyoke Hospital is great for augmentive communication. Whole Children (or maybe its Whole Child) is in Hadley and offers lots of classes for kids on the spectrum. If you do gfcf there is a whole foods in hadley and steals and deals in noho often has a selction of great deals. Where are you moving from? If you need info about more services in the area, feel free to contact me. I live about 30 min from Noho.
Good luck with your move! CT's mom I saw above someone posted about Karen Levine, Liam sees her every year and is scheduled for the end of Feb. You need to e:mail her for an appointment. She has started Helping Children with Challenges, I think you can find it online. |
