http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1018628&l=4886b&am p;am p;id=758959353 Hello! We are home from Dartmouth. Jeremy had his hamstring lengthening, heel cord lengthening, and a postular capsular release in both ankles(that was an extra thing they did once they got in). Tues he was pretty dopey. Wed he was pretty sore, very grumpy, still dopey.... Thurs he came home and the PT at the hospital showed us some great tips to getting him around, etc, etc... Fri- he is able to use the walker to get around with us supporting him. He IS using the regular toilet- he does not care how casted up he is. The PT came and showed us ways to move him around- and it helped so much.
I hope you can access the pic. Wed was rough- he was grumpy and sad- but you know- in the end, this is going to improve his quality of life so much, that 3 days after- I can say it was worth it. Thanks. Gail Jeremy LOVES the YANKEES! That was his gift the day of surgery. A 12 DVD disc set called 'Yankeeography'- he has been watching it since the morning of surgery! They gave him a DVD player while we were waiting for the Dr. to take him- and he literally fell asleep with his hand on the laptop watching it. He is well. I seriously think this will improve his quality of life greatly. He was walking about 4 inches off the ground. Gail I'm so glad it went well! Hope he makes a quick recovery.I'm so glad to hear it went well! Thank goodness. :) Glad it went well -- now, on to the PT!he is well today- tried to get out of bed himself with all those tips the PT gave him. He also was told by her to NOT attempt to do anything by himself. But- he did not fall. He is ok...he is laying down watching the Simpsons. He was up before in the wheelchair, and we will later 'walk' to the bathroom with his walker and adult support. He is moving around well to keep his body from not getting 'sleepy'. But- he has visitors! A teacher came to see him from school- he got a package from the speech person at school- and 'the girls' are coming to see him later!!! Our neighbor brought him some muffins too! Lots of snow here in VT today. Expecting another storm tomorrow. Glad everything is going so well. May he have a speedy recovery.Harriet Glad to hear things are going well. May your boy have a speedy recovery and be up and running in no time.I am glad everything went well. He looks so relaxed.
