Thought everyone would get a kick out of this story. I was in the airport in Montego Bay waiting for a delayed flight home when a Jamaican woman struck up a conversation with me. Without my telling her anything about my son, she said, "You worry too much about your son." I asked her what she meant and she said, "You worry that you are going to die before your son." This is true. I have all sorts of legal stuff in place in case I die while he is a minor. I also have a big life insurance policy, so he won't want for anything if I pass. She added, "You worry that your son will not be successful, but he will be fine. He is very smart. He will marry and have two children. Also, he is thinking about learning to drive." I was totally flabbergasted that she could intuit any of this. She also told me quite a few things about my parents' health that no one could have known. I don't know how she could have guessed any of these things. I hadn't mentioned my son or his diagnosis to her. We mostly talked about recipes. Anyway, I still worry about him, but this did give me a bit of a temporary lift. The only thing I could confirm is that J would like to learn how to drive and that he would like me to give him my car when he gets his license. I will have to wait and see about his wife and two kids. Wow -- and she did not ask you for money? I would thus trust her! |
