As many of you know, I'm an advocate as well as a parent. I've recently increased my hours so that I can do trainings in Suffolk County. I can come to any group and do a training (usually on Powerpoint with free handouts) on any educational topic. I've come to SEPTAs, support groups, gatherings of parents, groups of school and mental health professionals and will soon do a training for a group of college professionals who run a program for college students with developmental disorders. I'm happy to come to any group and present on any topic, not just ASD-related issues. If you're interested, PM me. What about Nassau County? I'm feeling excited about this!
You can phone Long Island Advocacy Center in New Hyde Park and ask to speak with the person there who does trainings in Nassau. Yes, trainings can be arranged for free for Nassau groups. I don't have the # here, but google it or phone the Suffolk office and speak to the intake coordinator there and she'll put you in touch with the right person in Nassau Co. Suffolk office number is 631-234-0467 X10. |
