Autism test resources

Back to Autism Information >> Next Topic

I was just going over the results of my youngest son's autism evaluation, and needed some background information.  So I thought I'd start a resource collection on the various autism tests.  Sorry that I don't have much yet.

As usual, if a link is broken, remove any blank spaces from the address and try again.  If it still doesn't work, let me know.

ADOS

http://www.autism-pdd.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=10895&am p;PN=1 - gives the cut-off scores.

CARS

http://oreilly.com/medical/autism/news/diag_tools.html#CARS - 4 sample questions from the CARS.

Any other resources?

I am sorry I don't have the time to look up and post all the links, but you can find them easily by googling the names.

GARS
GADS
ADI-R

and for screening tools:
CAST
MCHAT
Cognitive tests are usually included in an evaluation.  I'll try to put some test links here.

http://alpha.fdu.edu/psychology/SORTING_OUT_WISCIV_SCORES.ht m
This link groups WISC subscores in various ways, which might be helpful in identifying your child's strengths (for example, not just saying verbal score is lower than his perceptual score, but being able to say that he does poorest on subtests requiring school-acquired knowledge).

http://www.hoagiesgifted.org/highly_profoundly.htm - this one is geared towards parents of gifted children, but it helped me find the subtest ceiling (maximum possible score on a subtest) for the WISC.
