Question for mothers who are pregnant

Back to Autism Information >> Next Topic

I was curious if anyone was rethinking having their baby vaccinated at all.  I'm not just talking about the MMR, but the HEP B that they give to one-day old infants.  My 4 ds has not had the MMR because we had concerns before he was age-eligible for it, but he's had everything else.    I just wanted to know what others thought, the pros and cons, the risks.well I vaccinated my son... but I only let them do 1 at a time. took a lot longer and they waited 6mo between Chicken pox and MMR.  I just had dd in Sept - no I did not give her the hep b in the hospital.   I am not pregnant, but if I had to do it all over again I never would have allowed them to vaccinate my hours old infant. They are barely out of the womb and they want to start assulting their little immune system with vaccinations. Just my two cents worth (which explains why I am not rich lol) With my #4 baby, I decided to delay vaccines. She did not get the hep-b in the hospital or at all! I didn't start until she was 6 mo old and did them 1 at a time. I did not seperate the MMR. She has not had the chicken pox or hep-b vaccines. She is 7y.My second did not get the hep B in the hospital and has had his vaccines spread out considerably over his three years.  No Chix pox, MMR split, still hasn't had hep B.  My doc is very supportive.  Also, my 7yo only had the measels booster of the MMR, the other M and R aren't why the kids get the booster, it's just for the measels.  So, I said no thanks to mumps and rubella.  Just an FYI. Thank you so much for your responses.  They have been very, very helpful. I'm 9 months and my child will be vaccinated.

The baby is a boy, and boys in my family have an rather high chance of an immune disorder that makes vaccinations very important for them to have.  If the baby was a girl (thus severely lowering her chance of having the disorder) I would probably wait until she was old enough to have her immune system checked more thoroughly to decide when/if to vaccinate.
I should have said I'm 9 months pregnant

I just had to make this difficult decision with my 5-month-old DD.  We had stopped vaccinating my 2yo when she was 4mo because she had a suspected reaction (stopped breathing, was hospitalized, etc.) right after her 4-month shots.  We just recently got her caught up now that she is 2yo.  I decided to give my 5mo DD the hepB shot in the hospital when she was born because I was so confused and emotional.  I then refused her shots at 2 months, but then changed my mind and decided to have her vaccinated on schedule from now on, so she will be caught up by 9 months.  Vaccinating is such a scary decision -- damned if you do, damned if you don't

We are doing a different vaccine schedule than the one my 2 ASD kids were on.  So far, he is doing good.  Go to www.generationrescue.org and www.909shot.com for more info.

My oldest now 15 had all his shots , high function autism.  My 12 year old daughter also had all, she is fine.  Our 10 year old had a series of catchups at 14 months, and within 2 months developed severe autism with global development delay. ( I have video of her singing twinkle twinkle with me at 14 months and the subsequent video at 16 months was a screaming heap with no eye contact)  My youngest son has had no immunisations....he is now 8.  No regrets that he hasnt had shots.....not worth the risk for us.

My 6 month old is receiving his shots on schedule.
