personal care assistant

My daughter had a "personal care assistant" in the classroom in the special needs classroom before she moved to a typical school. The teacher tells me that the personal care assistant dropped off the IEP when my daughter transferred to the new school. How can something drop off my daughters IEP? I am very confused and i read about paraprofessionals but i have no idea where to find one or how to get one in school for my daughter. This is so overwhelming to me and all new to me and i try to read as much as i can and educate myself, i feel like i am failing my daughter. I would ask the Assistant principal or principal about this. it might be an
oversight. If not, then I would call an IEP meeting and have this addressed.
I would work at defining this person's role and what it means to your
daughter's education if she does not have one.

In my state, if you transfer within the district, your current IEP must be
followed exactly. If you are from out of state they have 30 days to complete
an evaluation and must follow the existing IEP until a new one can be
developed. Good luck.
