Can anyone tell me of resources available in cental Iowa? You can find autism-related experts and services anywhere in the US through the links collected here: http://www.autism-pdd.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=19141&am p;KW=find+an+expert If you want tips from people who live there, you can use the above link to find local support groups and autism society chapters. But hopefully someone here on the forum will be able to help you. I live in Ankeny. Resources are very hard to find. There is Metro Kids West in Waukee and they have alot of services, however, alot of there services are cash only. We also use Child Serve there are 2 locations one in Johnston and another in Ames. We get OT, PT, and Speech. Mercy Riverside offers Speech therapy and I can give you a name there that I highly recommend. The Homestead offers ABA thereapy, they take Medicaid and bill through SEL services, however, we were on a 10 month wait and it has gotten longer. You can pay for ABA out of pocket with them and that is very expensive. If you need anything else please email me. You will battle for all of these, it took me a year to get it all in place. However, we have been recieving ABA for 4 months 18 hours a week and my son has come a long way. Good luck. |
