OT

What should I expect an OT to be doing with a 23 month old ASD child...in general?

I think my son's OT isn't doing the very best job, just wondering if I'm overreacting.

We had a home OT specialist that I absolutely loved. She would come in with age appropriate toys and games that worked with age-appropriate skills/developmentally appropriate needs.

You have the right, at any time to ask for a new OT specialist. If you feel more is needed, go for what you feel. I had a speech therapist once that I just knew wasn't doing what she needed to do, and requested a new one. I ended up having the same one (requested) for 3 of my other children.

God Bless,
Kelly
Ours has always worked on gross motor and vestibular input (climbing, swinging, jumping pedaling a tricycle) tactile input like a bean and rice pool as well as fine motor (coloring, stringing beads).  Oh, and oral things too(she's defensive).  They  work on transitioning smoothly between all of these so that everyday transitioning becomes easier as well.
