OT- I goofedand didn't check my pockets before throwing my clothes into the washer.....lol Well, my cell phone was in one of the pockets and is still not working but it comes on just not completely. Anyone ever had this happen? Did your phone come back to life...lolAnyone want me to do their laundry?....lol advice on how to make it work again. My ds nibbled on my cell phone once and I never got it to work again but at least the SIM card worked with the new phone
As for my laundry, no thanks, I am very capable ruining my stuff, why let you have all the fun? lol sweetpups...i almost wish I had let a pen slip into my laundry instead of my phone...I've done that one too and ruined a whole wash....lol
I didn't know what a SIM card was before today. Thank you for the info, I'll have that checked. My hubby actually washed his phone before and then he used a blow dryer to dry it out. His actually worked after this; however, with the newer phones..more components, more things to go wrong. My mom washed our house phone and it didn't work. I accidentally soaked mine and my mothers ipods. they died. and I dropped my first cell phone into the toilet lol. Just wanted to let you know that I'm a repeat offender! No advice, but if the phone needs ot be replaced see if your contract offers a free upgrade to a new phone, free phone, or cheap phone Molly: Sweetie you are just a rookie compared to my beloved wife. In the last almost 10 years of marriage, she has lost 4 phones, killed 3 others, put 7 cameras and 1 camcorder to an early grave. She has lost cordless phones IN OUR HOUSE, and never found them! She has started to redeem herself, as she has recently found a cordless phone in a basket of plastic cutlery in our garage after 2 months of it being MIA. As a Tech Engineer, I live in constant fear for my life. I refer to the Love of My Life as, "The Great Killer of All Things Technical".Hmmm... well I never had to take a cell phone apart but other stuff if they got wet I usualy just disasembled them, let um dry out and sometimes it worked? especally the battery compartment, take that all out and let it dry. and then just prey!Try smacking it on your hand HARD, just like you would with a remote control if it were not working. I dropped mine in the toilet, and that got it working again for some strange reason.... And Luckyman, I am in STRONG competition with your wife, I'm only 2 cameras, and a camcorder behind, but to my defense, I have destroyed not 1, but 2 IPods. And a laptop. And a DVD player. *cries* Maybe once it's completely dried out...it will work again...this happened to a friend who couldnt find her phone for hours only to see it at the bottom of the swimming pool. Days later it was like new again:) Good luck!LOL....you all so funny!
Luckyman I have sent 2 cameras to an early grave...lol. First I'm going to pray then I'm going to, take out the battery, dry it with the hairdryer and then try to charge it once more, if it doesn't work I'm going to go to Verizon tomorrow see about replacing the SIM card. I have never washed a phone but I have washed several watches. I just went ahead and dried them if they didn't work. I figured it's ruined now I might as well try it. The watches actually worked after drying them! LOLLOL Janis....I forgot that I had recently washed a new watch...lol Unlike my phone it still works...lol Apparently, per one web site, an estimated 2000 people put their cell phones through the wash on a single day. There are a zillion "how to" sites on cell phone recessitation out there. Here is one that appears to be one of the better ones. Good luck. http://www.wikihow.com/Save-a-Wet-Cell-Phone i'm back in business with a used cell phn. Unfortunatly mine was beyond resusscitation.
I'm glad that I'm not alone in washing my cell phone ....Thank you for posting that kristy, I'm printing that out just incase it happens again. |
