You will need to back off the chelation for a while until he feels better.

We have not done IV chelation but have done transdermal cream and suppositories. Both caused yeast and bacteria overgrowth in my girl every time we tried. Same story: seeing great things at the beginning and then getting more and more unhappy, hyper and irritable. We then do a stool or urine test to find that she has overgrowth.

We still plan to chelate, she will just require more effort to figure out how to get her gut healed up good.

Alot of what I read about chelation is that its dangerous and unproven but I dont know anything first hand about it. I hope your son starts feeling better

lili,

Your doc needs to follow up on this.  DOn't listen to the nurse who says it is normal.  It sounds like he may be having some mineral deficiency, which is common with chelation and it can cause odd behaviors.  It really seems he may be deficient in calcium, magnesium and zinc.  You might consider increasing the calcium to see if it improves his behavior.

DAN docs who chelate should be doing a Packed Red Blood Cell Elements test w/in a few weeks after you start chelation to check the mineral levels.  They should also be doing a cbc & cmp.  Was wondering if you did a urine toxic to see if the chelating agent they are using is pulling some metals to ensure it is the most effective chelating agent for that child.  Each child responds differently to each chelating agent.

thank you little byrd i check with them on that.
